Competition
Competition is open to young musicians of ages 5-18, with application under different categories. Finalists will be performing at Fukuoka Civic Concert Hall. Winners will be given an opportunity to perform with professional musicians as a soloist in August 2026 in Fukuoka.
Preliminary round
To apply for the Preliminary Round, please submit links of your video recordings on YouTube or Google Drive private links to (asiafymf@gmail.com). The deadline is 17 October, 2025.
Finalists will be announced via email by 1 November, 2025. They will be invited to register to proceed to the Final Round.
Final round
Final Round will be held on 26 December, 2025 at the Civic Concert Hall in Fukuoka, Japan. Please register application together with entry fees.
Masterclasses will be held on 24-25 December, 2025. Finalists are also eligible to participate in masterclasses coached by our judges. (Spaces are limited, and fees will be necessary. Free admission for observers. )

RULES & REGULATIONS
RULES FOR APPLICATION
PRELIMINARY ROUND:
1. Please submit Video Recording(s) via YouTube or Google Drive private links (asiafymf@gmail.com).
2. Please submit one performance per application, with maximum length of 10 minutes.
3. In case of multiple applications, files should be separated by Category/ Instrument/Genre.
4. Incomplete applications or missing documents, etc. will not be evaluated.
5. Full payment for the Preliminary Round must be completed before the application will be processed. Application fees will not be refunded.
FINAL ROUND:
1. Only successful applicants from the Preliminary Round who are admitted to the Final Round are eligible to apply for the Final Round.
2. Full payment for the Final Round must be made before application will be processed. Application fees are not refundable.
VIDEO RECORDINGS for PRELIMINARY ROUND:
1. The private links submitted via YouTube or Google Drive must be openable. Unopenable videos will be disqualified.
2. The video must be unedited, with clear focus on the player's face and the performing hands.
3. The video must clearly indicate (1) Participant's name (2) Name of the music piece. For submission via YouTube, please also add the following description:
“Application for ASIA FUKUOKA YOUTH MUSIC FESTIVAL”
4. Professional quality recording is not mandatory. But, the sound must be clearly audible.
MUSIC SCORES
Participants are requested to submit electronic copies of their scores within 3 days of their application.
Format in .pdf and image files will be accepted. Please send all music scores by email to the following email address: asiafymf@gmail.com
In the email, please indicate: (1) Name of Applicant (2) Name of Repertoire
Please also attach the score as Attachment.
MEMORISATION
Memorisation is not mandatory, but performance by memory is highly encouraged.
